One day the bold number graphics and other elements in my newspaper caught my eye. I decided to use them with my Tim Holtz paper dolls and other scrapbook paper vintage news scraps I had lying around to create various tags and cards.
Newsprint can be easily aged, stays well glued and the colors are muted, making it a great addition to junk journals and other ephemera.
You can also find many different text styles.
Don’t forget ads. I used these cigar wrappers from advertisements to make stamps.
Just a few of the tags and cards I made using newsprint, shown at right.
Now before throwing away newsprint I look for graphic elements to cut out and add to my ephemera collection. I never run out of interesting numbers, dates or other graphics.
