From Fancy Cards To Deluxe Stickers
Transform treasured luxurious greeting card estate sale or thrift shop finds into deluxe stickers that only look premium. Cards that are embossed, decorated with glitter, foil or have jewel accents are a goldmine for handmade stickers that you can use in endless ways for paper crafts, art journals or card making. The detailed charming art work makes them ideal for decorative accents. Revamp junk cards into jewels for keepsakes or for sale.
Mine as much material as you can from each card. Fancy cards often have vellum type inserts that you can add to journals and quality paper that you can salvage as well for tags or journal cards. The sentiments are also a source of quality ephemera that you can use in a variety of ways. Estate sales are a good source of these types of cards but you can still find them in a variety of thrift shops.
Begin by choosing a collection of ornate greeting cards. You will also need some sticker paper and glue. Assorted punches in different shapes make creating easier but cutting dies might be necessary if the paper is too thick to punch, if so see if there are layers you can separate. Jewel accents might also hamper the ability to use punches. Punch or die cut identical shapes from your sticker paper. After punching or die cutting glue sticker paper to the back of each piece. You can also glue sticker paper to your card before punching or die cutting but simple shapes aren’t too difficult to align and there will be less waste. Store your stickers for future projects.
Grab a stack of your not so treasured fancy greeting cards and transform them into deluxe usable stickers and other assorted ephemera and give them a new life.
Happy paper crafting!
