Well you know what they say about the best laid plans for mice and men…. 

I haven’t ventured in to the craft room for a month but had wanted to get a few cards in the mail for some friends.

I decided to investigate some new uses for an old flower punch as it hasn’t been used in quite a while and I had pre-punched flowers by the dozens lying around so I glued them on to card stock and then used a sweet little embossing folder to emboss the whole thing. I really love this whimsical and delicate embossing folder. I am sure it will get a lot of use. The first try layout was much better but after gluing I didn’t like the arrangement so the heart was kind of a ‘fix the composition’ add on.  I should’ve taken a quick pic. It was an experiment that I didn’t want to abandon as my supply of the black floral paper that I love is almost gone. It’s definitely not perfect. I will  try again, perhaps with just a solid color for the punched flowers but it was inspirational to just try using them as a motif. 

And the other was inspired by an elegant embossed card with jewels as about the only embellishment in flower centers, not even a greeting. I thought it was beautifully simple so I looked for an appropriate embossing folder to try it out and I’m sure I’ll be using this technique more often and with different folders for blank any occasion cards or notecards.
