Recycling – Ugly Paper Transformations

Recycle Box Project

I was glancing through a book for creatives at the thrift store. One rule caught my eye. Avoid clutter. For me I realized it was time to clear some paper stacks that had been accumulating in my craft space that didn’t seem to offer any potential. Time for recycle box, my go to method for reducing clutter and beating creative chaos.

I grabbed a stack and began creating something that could be stored in another room and quickly exit the house. My favorite origami envelopes. I use these all the time, for the collection basket, a note for a neighbor, for gathering purse clutter etc. So simple to construct they barely require any material. Any size square and some glue or a staple and some paper folding. Done.

Next I decided to recycle some waxed paper packaging material/office clutter for storing DIY washi.

DIY washi from invisible tape and alcohol markers. You can use acrylic markers or Sharpies.

I also grabbed a watercolor wash color sample and created some watercolor paper flowers. This is a great way to recycle those watercolor or mixed media attempts you don’t like and they look fabulous as flowers or tiny tags.

Post Thanksgiving and pre Christmas is a great time to take a moment, clear your space and reflect on the most creative time of the year. Recycle box is just the ticket.

Happy paper crafting!
