Valentine Pop Up Card Holder

Want a cute and versatile Valentine paper craft? Last week’s gift card holder was so fun I decided to modify it by making it a little larger to hold more things and can also become a little book or note book if you desire. This will hold more ephemera and a 3×3″ card plus envelope if you wish.

What you’ll need:

4″ x 12″ scrapbook paper, your choice, double or single sided.

glue

trimmer or scissors

embellishments of your choice

Score paper on the long side at:

1 1/4″, 5″, 6 5/8″, 8 1/4″, fold as shown in video.

For this card holder the front of the pocket gets decorated but before decorating the front of your pocket be sure to remember to trim a sliver to create your pocket opening. You won’t be able to do this afterward.

I chose a simple reinforced hole and ribbon to close this card holder but use a closure of your choice.

The mini book is attached on the back side of the holder (the side with the flap). This type of insert can be done in myriads of ways and mine was very simple.

This design was quick and so much fun to imagine all of the ways it could be decorated. It can hold so many things from Valentines to stickers to assorted ephemera or even tea. It can also be modified to include a lot of extras, notebook, lace card, button card, gift card, tags, for flaps. Even add more pockets to the inside or the front or back. A fun interactive project with loads of potential that kids of all ages will love to receive.

Happy paper crafting!
